I cannot express my gratitude enough in words which would come close to the how thankful I am for coming across Hilary and the immense help and support she afforded me. Her passion and drive for helping others is remarkable and she shows a genuine desire to support me in my health and well-being which goes far beyond the cost of the initial appointment.
Two years ago I started suffering from minor dizziness and experienced some vestibular symptoms of being off balance. These symptoms slowly got worse over the next two years and each time they intensified I experienced other symptoms like neurological dysfunction, ocular, gastrointestinal, muscular and joint issues.
This was debilitating and had an impact on my ability to function optimally at work and home.
I was referred from one consultant to the other and brain scans, cardio gram, angiogram, various MRI, ENT and colonoscopy who could not diagnose anything other than suggesting it is mental. I consequently seen a psychiatrist, CBT specialist and hypnotherapist and developed a condition called health anxiety (probably the only positive diagnosis as I was anxious that no one is able to diagnose me even though I new something was wrong). I was placed on various antidepressants which made me feel worse and unable to function at all. I quickly discontinued using these.
In my desperation I kept researching what the cause could be and by chance came across Hilary’s website. I thought that maybe I’m allergic to something and a nutritionist can help me identify allergies and intolerances. The fact that Hilary had a built her practise on the foundation of being ill in the past also struck a cord with me.
I previously paid a lot of money to see another nutritionist who shoved a pamphlet in my hand and printed a diet from the NHS website. How different my first appointment with Hilary was….
Instead of looking at my lifestyle and diet she pursued a more scientific approach of looking for bacteria, pathogens, inflammation or imbalances in my body. Hilary immediately though that I might suffer from Lyme disease. I dismissed this as I was bitten by tick over 20 years ago and was treated at the time.
However, after various tests it was identified that I suffer from SIBO, Candida and potentially Lyme Disease. We immediately started treatment for SIBO and Candida but Hilary suggested I see a clinic in Germany to further investigate whether Lyme and other co-infections exists.
I was fortunate enough to be able to go to Germany where a positive diagnosis of Lyme together with 6 other co-infections were made. A treatment plan of antibiotics was proposed but for the best start to irradiate the bacteria a 3week residential program in Germany was recommended.
After suffering for over two years I decided to do the program which is mainly focused on administrating antibiotics through IV ensuring 100% of antibiotics are taken up in my system.
I can only speak very highly of the clinic and it’s employees.
On my return to the UK I started a long journey on oral antibiotics and many supplements to protect my body against the harm antibiotics could cause (like protecting my gut).
I’ve now been on this protocol for 5 months and the difference in how I feel and function is immense. I feel I have my old self back, being able to run 3 miles 3 time a week and training for a half marathon. Yes, I do have ups and downs and my treatment will continue for many months still but the remarkable change in 5 months is such a relief and motivation to keep going.
This is all thanks to Hilary who didn’t pursue the traditional methods of looking at each systems individually ( as the consultants did) but consider my body as a whole and looked for things hiding in my cells. Since my return Hilary has been in constant contact and very supportive during periods of feeling unwell. She’s always available for a quick chat or just some motivation and without her wonderful nature and perseverance I would probably been bedridden by now.
Thank you Hilary.
